Conservation notes The rainforest has a very big role in our world. There are many rainforests all over the world but most of them are located in South America. However, they are sadly being destroyed. Every minute, hundreds of trees are being killed from the rainforests. This destroys animal habitats, consumes valuable resources we need to live, and reduces the quality of the air we breathe. Although we need rainforests in order to have many of the pleasures we enjoy today, if we do not use what is left wisely, we will end up with no resources to use. The rainforests provides resources such as: wood, medicine, herbs and spices, lots of food, natural rubber, minerals, gems, etc. So while it’s important to gather what we need, we also must conserve what we have. We believe that companies that harvest rainforest supplies should have a set number of max resources that they are allowed to take every week. For the tree matter, we say that for every tree killed, a tree should be planted in a clear-cut area of rainforest in hopes of restoring the rainforest. In the years to come, we hope that these ideas will be enhanced and the rainforest of the world shall be saved!
The Rainforest Rainforests around the earth help provide cures for harmful diseases, cleans oxygen, and provides food, water, and other resources we need. With millions of plants and animals that inhabit these dense collections of trees, undergrowth and animals of all shapes and sizes, is it too risky to continue taking valuable recourses? Rainforests are tropical, exotic forests located around the equator. They house a huge variety of plants, animals, and even people. There are many tribes of rainforest housed people. These primitive tribes gather fruit and hunt for meat. However, the harsh conditions they live in are enough to make up for them having to work less for what they need. Animals in the rainforest live on four levels: 1) the forest floor which houses a few very weak plants due to lack of sunlight, and a small amount of ground critters 2) the Understory. Located just under most treetops, the Understory is home to plants with large leaves to soak up the meager sunlight, and animals such as larger cats, frogs, snakes, and insects. 3) The Canopy where the older trees form a dense net of leaves and branches shading the lower sections of the forest but supplying the massive trees with sunlight they need. The animals living here include snakes, frogs, and birds. 4) The Emergent layer, where the tallest rainforest trees poke out of a sea of leafy leaves. Monkeys and birds live here. It is important that we save these amazing, life-filled ecosystems so make sure to remember these mighty forests.
